I am now poor again!

Well, not that poor really, but I did spend well over half my recovered money on one single toy.

It’s a teeny little dragon made of thread, suspended in a rock crystal bezel, on a band of brazinion that fits me as a bracelet and anyprime else as a ring. Not cheap-looking! As art alone it’d be worth a few hundred lozens.

It is also a Glory of Hren Tzen. My creator god. All my best spells involve Sustenoc (as is true for most Zi Ri), and using a Glory of Hren Tzen amplifies Sustenoc spells. And quite a strong one, at that.

Usable two times a day. So, that’s two free extra Sustenoc spells a day. And those two at double power. Or with other goodies instead if I use it in more exotic ways, like a modest but pleasant 10% Enchantability improvement on Sustenoc enchantments, and I usually wind up sticking Sustenoc into enchantments somewhere already because I’m Zi Ri.

For the rest of my life.

Best three million lozens I ever spent.

Only three million lozens I ever spent, for that matter, but I hope the next time I do, it’s as good a deal.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Imagine how much handier it would have been if there had been a spell in place that would, unknown to Zascalle, detect if a large amount of lozens belonging to Sythyry were being transferred elsewhere, and where the lozens were going.

Realistically, why would such a thing have been unknown to Zascalle? She probably would have been in charge of setting it up.

An on the world tree an ounce of cure is worth fifty pounds of prevention. Hl > Mu,De > Su, and a necklace of tiny beads with bound healing spells will do more to keep you alive in a fight than enough metal armor to smother a gormorror.

True, true, someone determined to steal a thing worth millions of lozens probably would invest in an artifact to see such spells!

I contend however, that avoiding the fight in the first place weighs considerably less still.

Makes me think of a Rassimel thief in blue, armed only with his wits and a crook-staff...

Don't some of the lozens have a form of tracing spell on them already?

Considering that pumping too much power into such a spell would have made it so blatantly obvious to the magic sense that it would have defeated the purpose, I don't think that spell would have lasted nearly this long! Besides, those were probably the lozens that were taken by the pirates - those, IIRC, were not recovered.
