Why I Hate Everybody [22 Thory 4261]

Cani

Me:"Anooooof? Why didn't you tell me that Ilottat was married?"

Anoof:"Um ... I did tell you that."

Me:"You did?"

Anoof:"Two weeks ago!"

Me:"Um ... that's ... before anything happened. Before he invited me around."

Anoof:"Well, yes. But, still, you knew him a little then. How could you forget something like that?"

So I hate Cani.

Herethroy and Rassimel

Dustweed and Tethezai are sitting down for breakfast together, looking like the worst thing wrong with the world is that Flokin lit the sun a couple hours early, like It does every day, and they're not ready for it yet.

So I hate Herethroy and Rassimel.

Sleeth

Rhedwy:"Are you and mystery Orren boyfriend all bored yet? If so, I recommend extra spice of bring new person into the sex with you!" She turned around and flashed me.

So I hate Sleeth.

Gormoror

Prof. Vengtomerax asked me if I was OK after class. So I hate Gormoror.

Khtsoyis

Everyone always hates Khtsoyis, just because it's a good idea to. Well, everyone but Ysgwyd I guess.

Orren

Ilottat sent me another invitation for tonight.

So I hate Orren.

Zi Ri

I'm going of course.

Just seeing Anoof holding a little calling card and looking all apologetic got me all horny and excited and eager. And ready to get past the "cry cry cry" part of the evening's schedule and up to the "copulate copulate" part.

So I hate Zi Ri.

I don't know, I'm sure Ms Flutter isn't the only one who thinks tentacles are appealing. Shame about the personality attached, though, with Khtsoyis...

So you're going to rendezvous with a married Orren whom you now hate?

Have fun. :)

Holy cow, Sythyry, you consider "cry cry cry" to be part of the evening's schedule?! Have you considered politely refusing to be so used, and instead finding someone who's honest with you, who helps you feel loved and happy due to who they are on the inside, rather than what species they are?

For that matter, have you thought about a) talking honestly with Floosh, who seems to be fond of you, and asking her advice on this, or b) finally realizing Esory really, really likes you? ;)

Oh, dear. Do Zi Ri suffer hangovers?

How much does it matter that Ilottat is married? You'd joked with him about inviting a hypothetical future orren spouse of his to join you--so clearly there's no absolute rule that married orren must be monogamous.

It's times like this that a short vacation seems good. Come on over to our monster world; we'll treat you right.

If you can't do that, you should cheat him out of his inheritance. It'd be easy.

[Bard points to a recent entry, the one with Rhedwy, wherein another Orren casually mentioned that he had just acquired a third husband and the other two were jealous. Or the longago stuff about Spirshash and his wife and his husband, too. -bb]

You're very big on this "Cheat Ilottat out of his inheritance" idea, aren't you?

I don't think that cross-species marriages are okay, though, so there's no long-term consummation in the stars for Sythyry unless zie wants to live a complete lie and continually cast "Cloak of Another God" on zirself. :P

However, everyone knows that sex is quite theraputic. I'm unfamiliar with Sleeth physiology, but one can hardly take lightly when one is flashed!

[Standard panther anatomy. Rhedwy doesn't generally wear clothes, so it's not that strange a gesture.]

..what they all think about it

Cani

To recall matters of family is important, whether the family be yours or that of your lover!

Herethroy

A very long song, detailing the courtship of a triad of Herethroy over the course of twelve years, up through the birth of their first grandchild
(Not transcribed here for reasons of length, and the fact I fell asleep after the first verse)

Rassimel

There's this simply fascinating book here - well, only volumes 14-26 here, really, but I'm working on getting the others - which details the current nobility to an extent which would be scurrilous were it not for the research potential. You should read it!

Sleeth

You are the pleased if I come join. I am the mighty lover, rrai!

Gormoror

Flexible and feathered fun,
Once torrid, turns to tangled.
Perhaps this play is folly?

Khtsoyis

(When I asked, three of the tentacles were, er, occupied. But the others made some rather lewd gestures in reply)

Orren

Please, don't be angry.. I didn't mean - I was.. (copulate copulate)

Zi Ri

Er. I believe your anatomy already expressed an opinion on that one, Sythyry..

I really, really don't think you should fall into bed with him again until you have this all sorted out. At least up until now you have the excuse you didn't know.

Just given how against it his whole family seems to be, the little surprises and untruths that keep popping up (I remember you mentioning him saying he wasn't fixated on Zi Ri, but recent testimony seems to be otherwise...), maybe you should slow down a bit.

*grins* I love this!

And I think I may be the one who started the gender meme. :-) Or one of the ones.

Perhaps getting romantic with Rhedwy instead would be less complicated!

... which doesn't really work, either, since Illotat is only interested in zir because zie's a Zi Ri.

Personally, I do not like Illotat very much. :P

I feel sorry for him. I think he's the one living a complete lie right now, considering how vehemently he keeps stating that, as per his father's demand, he really doesn't like Zi Ri -- no, really! -well, except this one.

Poor kid. From what I can tell, though, never marrying one's lover isn't that bad a thing. Isn't that what Tethezai and Dustwind are doing? Maybe if Illotat got over his fear of his father and worked things out amicably for the family's needs, then Illotat could be married and also live openly with his Zi Ri lover?

Am I the only one who reads this and can't read anything Rhedwy says without laughing?

Tethezai and Dustweed are not an example of a proper couple. Much as I like them, (1) they are not the same species; (2) Tethezai is quite a pervert; and (3) Dustweed is a person of a socially and theologically unacceptable sex. In any case they have only been involved for a few months.

Date: 2004-12-31 01:46 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] collie13.livejournal.com
Hmm. All right, if I'm understanding this correctly, there's a big social difference in Sythyry's world between "proper couple" (individuals of the same species/their genders don't matter) and the improper "lovers living together" (individuals possibly of different species/their genders may include the socially unacceptable). Is that right, or are there other social ramifications too?

Date: 2004-12-31 02:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sythyry.livejournal.com
Well, things are never so simple.

For Cani, a proper marriage is about a dozen people, half male half female, and there's a whole lot of internal structure about who does what with whom.

For Herethroy, a proper marriage is one male, one female, and one co-lover. However, there are about three times as many females as males, and two times as many co-lovers as males. So, Every adult male must be in two proper marriages; co-lovers in one or two, and females in one if they get to be in any at all.

Rassimel generally marry by twos or threes, intending permanance, usually heterosexual but not always and it's not that big a deal to marry homosexually.

Orren generally marry in groups of 3-8 or so; divorce after a few years is common.

And so on.

And of course those are just world-wide stereotypes. There are local variations. Ilottat and Ysgwyd are in some kind of more Rassimel-like marriage -- which is somewhat common for aristocratic Orren, 'cause it works well for titles and property, even if it doesn't fit their personality so well.

The World Tree is a messy, complicated place. Sorry.

Rhedwy seems to like you! (and not in the culinary meaning)

The worst that could happen is you could get horribly mauled in some friendly manner.

Okay, so mabey you wouldn't see the advantage in that, either.
