Perhaps I have spent too long on some Herethroy farmers who aren't even traff. So, I shall answer questions to-day. Perhaps I shall answer them wisely and well, perhaps flippantly and falsely, and, if you are very lucky, you or I will be able to tell which I did.

But beware! If you ask me a question, I may ask one back, which you are morally obliged to answer as well as I answered yours, if not better or worse!

Immara?

[A pause while Sythyry goes and talks to one of them]

Oh, so that's what they call it. That one vehemently denies having any prime immara. I'd have to do a fair bit of work to check on it. (him? her? How does one tell, with maraleni?)

I'm not sure that I favor making monsters instruments for punishing primes, in any case. It seems overly dangerous.

Still the Maraleni / Immara thing would be sooooo useful. Sometimes, as a society, as a formal part of the legal and penal system, it would be important to keep tabs on condemned criminals, prime or otherwise! Maraleni would be useful for that. They'd also be very very useful as part of your military, espionage and counter-espionage systems. You might want to intentionally make some of your spies and operatives Immara, for operational benefits.

What, doing wicked mind-magic things because they're useful? Moral issues aside, the trouble we'd get in over that would not be useful at all!

I honestly didn't know how that sort of stuff works... Is it just mind magic? It seems to me that it could have plausibly been something else? I thought the only mind stuff they had was the telepathy? Is the 'know where all their immara' thing mentador? What about the abilities regarding augmenting various physical attributes, or reducing dangers to their immara? Has anyone done a thorough catalogue on exactly how their immara work and what the abilities and capabilities involved are?

I am sure someone has done. There is such a thing as a Rassimel, after all.

Well, yes, but you might want to look into it I mean. It seems like it could be dreadfully important to get this figured out BEFORE it becomes a major major issue...

Also, how do you know that they haven't, you know, slipped some of their berries into various foods of various primes already?? How do you tell if an individual is an Immara, for sure? If they are going to be doing that anyway, you might as well do a bit of harm reduction and oversight onto their activities...?
