We'll have another entry or two of Sythyry's Vacation. Then I'm going to take a break -- I have been barely managing to do even a half-assed job lately -- and start up Sythyry's City.
[I wasn't asking for "Mighty Zi Ri Wizard Solves All Problems By Zir Supreme Magic". I mean situations like this the recent proble with Grinwipey. Supreme Magic wasn't needed, just a backbone. Instead we get Sythyry whining and refusing to take any steps to deal with the problem. Instead she leaves it up to other people to fix the problem and then goes back to whine because they didn't do it the way shi wanted.
It's almost like the opposite of a dues ex-machina. Instead of something showing up to arbitrarily solve the problem, something shows up to arbitrarily stop something from being done about the problem.]
[ To weigh in, Sythyry is a rather psychological character. I expect eventually for zir highly passive nature to bite zir in the butt, and then we'll see a confrontation arise from that itself. Running a city is an ideal setting for a such a thing, where a passive personality will be a liability. ]
[Well, I'm probably too cynical, but it seems to me passivity makes you pretty much the perfect politician. The key to success in that field seems to be tons of activity with zero actual accomplishment.]
I have no intention of running the new city! I'll leave that for someone who is either good at it or wants to do it, or, if a great miracle occurs, both.
