OOC -- anything like tofyof in real life?

OOC -- Know about anything in real life that resembles tofyofs?  There are some things I know about (morganatic marriages, concubine relationships, sultans' harems).  They mostly don't seem quite so devoted to the protection of the weaker party, though.  Know anything in real life which is closer to tofyofs?  Or otherwise interestingly related to it?

Modern-style BDSM relationships tend to be a lot more formal than they used to be. You can find standard contracts online for them these days.

The closest I can think of is in the popular book/movie "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", in which a young adult (with a job) is forced by her government into a horribly abusive form of adoption. For her own good, of course.

I fear in real life it was not laws that provided for such things but customs. Thoes customs where more for the pleasure of the one of higher rank, with no interest in the welbeing of the one of lower rank.
Course the greeks had there whole thing where younger people where trained in sex by older people of the same gender, reguardless of relationship status.
Many other cultures alowed concubines, though I do not know of any laws relating to such.

Readers have compared a few similar types of relationships, but none of them are all that much like tofyofs. That does seem odd, because there's no reason why tofyofs couldn't exist in real life. I think maybe you've come up with a whole new type of relationship. That's mighty creative.

Yeah --- for some reason or other, nobody seems to want to protect the weaker party in an assymetric sexual relationship, but nonetheless allow it. hmph.
