No Good Deed... [7 Chirreb 4261]

The Gormoror was duly retrieved.

Vae wriggled in a very disturbing way when I gave her the recording. I sometimes wriggle that way, when Ilottat has been particularly excellent. Giving things to Vae sometimes feels like intimate contact with a very wicked and very nonprime monster. I am traff through and through, but I will stick with primes!

And then she retrieved the Gormoror, and turned him outside-out, and gave back a half-dozen magic items. He wasn't particularly sane, after being inside-out for months. He wasn't particularly healthy either -- Vae couldn't heal him, so she made him look more or less like he really was. Which was wrong in many places. He could barely move, and everything hurt.

We (myself and Ptefshi and a few other guards, not Vae) took him to the Healer's Guild, and induced Hezimikkinen to pay for his healing, since Yylhauntra had paid for his harming and Zimi's as close to involved as anyone in Vheshrame.

Ilottat was predictably upset that I stood him up, rather thus:

Ilottat:"Couldn't it have waited 'til morning? You didn't give the recording to Vae until noontime!"

Me:"well, yes"

Ilottat:"Couldn't you have sent a message to me somehow?"

Me:"well, yes"

Ilottat:"I got some distinctly expensive and delectable fish to share with Pondspark, too."

Me:"thank you"

Ilottat:"It's ruined now. I was too sad to eat it alone."

Me:"im sorry"

And so on for about two-thirds of an hour. He was right, too, which made it worse. After which he allowed me to apologize more with clause 5 of our agreement. So much for that.

But I still feel awful about that rescue.
