Imagining my father as each of those, I certainly like imagining him as a bearded seal swimming in a pool of maraschino cherry juice most of all.

I don't really imagine my father as a comic book superhero, I imagine my father as a Socialist hero.

Very plain spoken man born into a poor family, worked hard all his life and believed in the virtue of same, always very punctual and attentive to detail. I like to imagine what a wonderful abour organiser or something he could have been, talking about all the blood and toil that he and the other workers poured into this or that company only to have the bourgeoisie take all the fruits of their labour.

Alas, my father died over a decade ago, but he was the parent I got along with. I have some lovely tales of his um. ability to exaggerate. His expression in my life certainly made fatherhood inexpressible using only lithography.
