Is zie still technically a doctor? Are you absolutely sure? I know they called zir mad at the Academy...
I have a Doctorate of Philosophy. There was even some philosophy in my thesis. My PhD was in Computer Science, though there was no science and cursed little computer in my thesis. So yes, I am not a doctor, but if you're being formal you're supposed to call me "Doctor". (Of course, if you do that in the wrong circumstances, I will pelt you with marshmallows.)
And when they "call [me] mad at the Academy", well, you'd be mad at them too if you worked your tail off for them for six years and won teaching awards and got kicked out.
